About Us

Botanichas' mission is the promotion of health based on two foundational principles, Homeostasis and Sustainability.

Homeostasis means to support, maintain and optimize normal bodily processes whereby physiological parameters function within the limits considered as normal and healthy. What a body consumes improves or worsens Homeostasis. This is achieved by leveraging the beneficial properties of substances as provided by nature. This includes, among others, botanical herbs, herbal based food supplements, essential oils, vegetable oils, floral waters, natural hygiene products, nutrient dense and vitamin packed foodstuff, virgin ingredients, organic where it makes a difference, natural preservation methods, organically composed sweeteners, artisanal slow maturation techniques, the fusion of traditional recipes with the latest scientific studies and more.

Sustainability on the other hand, means the ability to continue or be continued for a long time.

On the one hand we have Environmental Sustainability by which we mean the use of natural products and energy in a way that does not harm the environment or deplete natural resources, thereby supporting long-term ecological balance. We implement this in the following ways: (1) 90% of packaging is made of infinitely recyclable glass and metal, fully recyclable paper, fully vegetable based biodegradable plastic (PLA) and only 10% from petroleum based plastic (PET); (2) we will eliminate all PET by 2025; (3) 130% of our energy needs are covered by our own solar energy production (yes, 30% goes into the public electricity grid); (4) our delivery partners are committed to a low carbon footprint and energy efficiency, in practical measurable ways; (5) we source from artisanal producers that implement strict sustainability.

By Social Sustainability we mean the quality/impact (positive or negative) of a business' relationship with its social and economic ecosystem. For us this means ethical sourcing, family owned artisanal producers to promote diversity of production, fair distribution of resources, inter-generational know-how transfer, flourishing communities and more.

On our website (in the blog section) we regularly share knowledge, insights, know-how and recipes relevant to our range of products as well as pertinent to healthy living in general.
